COLOR

Theme:  Color

Project 1:  Hot Pink

I loved Barbie when I was little.  I selected hot pink for this shoot and Barbie came to mind.  I put my model in front of an aqua wall because Barbie from my time had aqua inside of the box.

Oh those famous red soles of Louboutin shoes. HOT!!!  Would like to leave this open for someone to guess what album inspired this shoot. :)

I am so excited that I finally got the opportunity to make this creative photo shoot a reality.  I was inspired by a photo I had seen online last year and threw the photo into my "one day" file....on Pinterest, of course!  When the words "Journey, Prop, & Dress" were told to us, I immediately knew that this was going to be my opportunity to finally do this shoot!!  I shared the idea/picture with Clara, my partner for this project, and she was a go for the idea.  We did not choose who between the two of us would be head photographer as we were asked to - We both decided to shoot. :)

The "Story"

My vision was of a young artist on her Jouney to stardom.  With ACL around the corner, she is playing her acoustic music for anyone who will listen and trying to get that bus ticket to Austin in hopes of getting some great connections.  :)

The Model:

Since the day I came across the idea of this shoot last year, I knew EXACTLY who I would ask to pose for me. She is a friend that I knew had the look for shoot.  Thank goodness she said Yes.  :D  Thank you, Anaid.  You are gorgeous!!  Flawless...

The Wardrobe:

The wardrobe was very important to me.  I knew I wanted that perfect indie/hippie look.  I went through several different head pieces before finally deciding on the one our model wore.  The dress is mine...shocker.  It was big on her, but we managed.  :)  The wrap bracelets are mine and It took me a while before deciding which ones I wanted her to wear.  I loved the decision i made of one colored and one black.  The teal in the bracelets ties in the teal with the head piece.

The Props:

The photo that inspired me had a girl and a guitar.  I knew I wanted a little more in the story of my photo.  I borrowed my brother's guitar as the main prop.  I also used my great, great, great grandfather's old trunk for her to sit on.
I wanted texture in the blankets, so I chose a very boho style quilt.  I used the chalkboard to identify that my young artist was trying to get to Austin.   Clara's guitar case was a great addition to the rest of the scene!!  The vintage orange fur inside was PERFECT!!

Time and Location:

The photo that inspired me seemed to have been shot in the evening.  I knew that I wanted vibrant color so I chose 4:30 PM in stead of the evening.

The location was found while I was driving around with my daughter.  I was in search for a road path in an area that would not be busy or crowded.

Excited for critiques and feedback!!  :)
